People

Quality starts with people and their commitment to achieving it. JH-COM’s team is knowledgeable, well trained and committed to quality in everything we do. That commitment is a prerequisite to joining our team, and quality training starts day one.

Learning and continuous quality improvement is not just encouraged, but core to how we operate and measure our success.

Core Quality Training

All new team members must pass our comprehensive formal core quality training class series, including learning terminology and reading and understanding all production and quality standards, documentation and procedures.

JH-C Quality Champions

After core training, all employees are offered the opportunity to work to become an JH-COM Quality Champion. JH-COM  Quality Champions handle first piece inspections, final inspection audits and mentor new team members. Each of our manufacturing cells has at least one Quality Champion.

Components

Our quality process includes first part inspection of all new components and vendors – whether supplied byJH-COM  or our customer - to verify they meet all specified standards. We check all incoming wire and cable to ensure correct conductor and insulation composition, and when required or requested, key and critical components are 100% inspected.

Design & Engineering

Our experienced design and engineering team and JH-C’s extensive resources can help with technical recommendations, component sourcing and design for manufacturability to build in quality – both in your product and manufacturing process. The greatest ROI and successes are realized when we partner early in the development process, in the concept and design phase.

Tooling

All tooling is included in our preventative maintenance program to ensure it remains compliant with quality and performance standards, When a tool has been cycled the predetermined quality allotment, it is pulled from production, disassembled, cleaned and all internal parts are checked for wear. After reassembly, the tools rechecked and tested to their quality and performance standards, and ensure we live up to our commitment to delivering the highest quality, problem free parts.

Manufacturing & Testing

Our focus on quality in every stage of our manufacturing process ensures quality and consistency in every part we produce. Lean manufacturing eliminates waste and fosters ideas for continuous quality improvement. Every manufacturing procedure has easy to follow, step by step instructions with visual aids. Lean, quality-focused work cells, custom designed build and test boards, and effective verification and testing procedures are all part of ensuring quality and consistency in every step of the production process.

Equipment

JH-C invests in automated state-of-the-art industry specific equipment for quality performance and efficiency. This investment in quality is maintained by our experienced team as part of our comprehensive preventative maintenance program, and is continuously reviewed for upgrades or replacement by improved technology. All measuring and testing equipment used for product acceptance, such as micrometers, pull testers, torque testers, scales, rulers, etc., is verified and calibrated per documented procedures and schedules that meet or exceed manufacturer’s recommendations, using standards traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Standards & Certification

We are RoHS compliant and a UL and CSA followed assembly facility. We conform to IPC A-610 standards for Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies and IPC/WHMA A-620 Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies.

Documentation

JH-C core processes are defined, controlled, and routinely reviewed and analyzed for effectiveness and accuracy in ensuring products meet the set standards and requirements. Records are maintained to provide evidence of conformity and traceability.

Measures & Goals

How do we know how we’re doing when it comes to quality? While our customers tell us with supplier quality recognition awards, we don’t wait to hear from them. JH-C quality is proactive. Measuring, tracking, reviewing and communicating our results is all part of our continuous quality improvement processes. Defective parts per million (PPM’s), both internal and external, are tracked daily, monthly and annually to identify trends and implement corrective action, and shared with all team members and our customers.
